THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL AND NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS
* EFFECTIVE THIS FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 305 PM UNTIL 800 PM CDT.
* PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE... SEVERAL LARGE HAIL EVENTS WITH A FEW VERY LARGE
HAIL EVENTS TO 3 INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE SEVERAL DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO
70 MPH POSSIBLE
THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND
45 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM
60 MILES SOUTH OF BROWNWOOD TEXAS TO 50 MILES NORTH NORTHWEST OF MINERAL
WELLS TEXAS.

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD
BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER
STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES.

CONVECTION IS DEEPENING OVER PARTS OF TX ALONG THE DRYLINE TO THE EAST OF
SJT AND EAST OF ABI. AIR MASS EAST OF THE DRYLINE IS MOIST AND VERY UNSTABLE
WITH CAPE VALUES UP TO 4000 J/KG. ALTHOUGH WINDS ALOFT ARE RELATIVELY WEAK...
VERY FAVORABLE THERMODYNAMIC ENVIRONMENT/STEEP LAPSE RATES INDICATES THREAT
FOR A FEW STORMS TO PRODUCE VERY LARGE HAIL AND LOCALIZED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS.

A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 3 INCHES. EXTREME
