THE DEVELOPMENT OF TORNADOES...LARGE HAIL...AND DAMAGING
WINDS OVER PARTS OF THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN PLAINS THIS
AFTERNOON THROUGH TONIGHT.
THE AREAS MOST LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE THIS ACTIVITY INCLUDE
WESTERN AND CENTRAL KANSAS
WESTERN AND CENTRAL OKLAHOMA
NORTH TEXAS AND THE TEXAS PANHANDLE
SURROUNDING THE GREATEST RISK AREA...
SEVERE STORMS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE IN A BROAD ARC EXTENDING
FROM SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS THROUGH MUCH OF NEBRASKA AND SOUTH
DAKOTA INTO THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY.
IN ADDITION...
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ALSO MAY OCCUR OVER PARTS OF PENNSYLVANIA
...NEW YORK...AND NEW ENGLAND.
A STRONG JET STREAM DISTURBANCE NOW CROSSING THE SOUTHERN ROCKIES
WILL CONTINUE EAST-NORTHEAST INTO THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN PLAINS
LATER TODAY AND TONIGHT.
THE DISTURBANCE WILL SERVE TO BROADEN AND STRENGTHEN A BAND OF
WARM...MOIST LOW-LEVEL SOUTHERLY WINDS ALREADY PRESENT OVER THE
PLAINS STATES.
THE DISTURBANCE WILL ALSO STRENGTHEN UPPER-LEVEL WINDS...AND
ENCOURAGE THE DEVELOPMENT OF SUSTAINED THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE REGION.
