Euronews: Life as an astronaut

24-05-2013 02:26 PM CEST

Living in the absence of gravity, traveling and working in space. It is the life of the astronauts, the figures in the middle between the mythical and the human.

"When you're about to leave, while you are lying and you have nothing to do. Least half an hour to think: What am I doing here?". Frank De Winne, President of the European Centre for the astronauts of Cologne describes the minutes that anticipate the start. "You're about to go into space, will not come back to earth for the next six months," said De Winne, "you'll be in a small box along with six other people and you've only got half an hour to think about this."
